Caring for Others Is the Heart of Wertz & Company

We’re not just inspired to act, we’re called to serve.

Together, we are making a difference

Our team is comprised of dedicated problem solvers who strive to improve local and international communities in need. Not only do we support these worthy causes on a corporate level, we cheerfully encourage our entire accounting firm staff to lend their time and attention to causes about which they feel passionate.

Camp Pendleton’s “Friends of the Family” Program

We proudly participate in Camp Pendleton’s “Friends of the Family” Program, which supports Navy or Marine families during Christmas. Providing a family with thoughtful Christmas gifts is our staff’s way of expressing our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the families in the armed forces who are stationed far from home.

Peanut Butter & Jesus

Over 250,000 children in Malawi under the age of five suffer from Severe Acute Malnutrition. Wertz & Company supports the Peanut Butter & Jesus (PB&J) project, a nutrient-fortified peanut butter production plant within Nkhoma Hospital. This ready-to-use therapeutic food has resulted in a 95% success rate for bringing severely malnourished children back from the brink of starvation.

The Sumba Foundation

We support the Sumba Foundation, a private, nonprofit, nongovernmental organization dedicated to helping the indigenous people of Sumba, Indonesia. The Sumba Foundation aims to improve quality of life and lessen the oppressive impacts of poverty through education, better health and employment opportunities.

American Heroes Tribute

We are proud to financially support American Heroes Tribute, whose mission is to honor U.S. Military personnel that have given their lives in the war on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan. Banners of the Fallen are designed by the service member’s family and AHT supports qualified public and private events by providing the banners for display, thereby honoring, preserving and celebrating their memory.

CrossRoads for Kids

Russ Wertz is one of the founding board members of Crossroads for Kids. This nonprofit organization was created to provide financial assistance through education and other types of support to “at need” children who are placed in at-risk situations due to circumstances such as illness, divorce, drug dependency and spousal abuse. All of the annual funding for this organization comes from local business entities as a result of board member contacts.

JSerra High School Educational Scholarships

Mr. Wertz and his wife Donna are both longtime advocates of private Christian schooling and are one of the founding families of JSerra High School. Through their leadership, the JSerra Shepherds Program was created, which raises approximately $500,000 a year for financial aid purposes.

Second Harvest Foodbank

The Second Harvest Foodbank works with 300+ nonprofit partner agencies and programs to provide wholesome food and fresh produce to more than 250,000 hungry children, senior citizens and families across Orange County each month. Second Harvest Food Bank collects food and funds to give to partner organizations who distribute it to those in need.

Jessie Rees Foundation (NEGU)

The mission of the Jessie Rees Foundation is to encourage kids fighting cancer to “Never Ever Give Up!” This slogan – “NEGU” for short – is at the heart of the foundation’s purpose to connect with families, increase awareness around to their stories, offering a network of helpful resources and sending the family continual doses of encouragement throughout their journey.

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is dedicated to advancing research and improving the daily lives of people with cystic fibrosis, a rare genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas and other organs. We’re proud to help support their mission as they provide important information and helpful resources to people living with the disorder and their families.
