At Wertz & Company, we care about the community in which we work and look to make a difference in the lives of people facing special challenges. Our involvement includes many different charitable endeavors (Local and Abroad), a few of which are highlighted below.
Wertz & Company participates in Camp Pendleton’s “Friends of the Family” Program, which supports Navy or Marine families during Christmas. The program focuses upon junior enlisted families with children who are temporarily stationed at Camp Pendleton, who have no other family members around and who may have a member of the family currently deployed. Each year, the employees of W&C sponsor a family of four by purchasing, wrapping and delivering a bundle of Christmas gifts for each member of the family. It is our way of expressing our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the armed forces for all that they do to help protect our great country and to help brighten the holidays for those families who are away from home.
Wertz & Company is a participant of the Community ¢ents program at A Charity for Charities. We have designated Families Forward and Pediatric Cancer Research to receive financial support for their programs and services.
Families Forward offers a comprehensive array of services targeting families who are at-risk of becoming homeless. Some of the services include career and life-skills counseling, referral services, transitional housing and food pantry.
Pediatric Cancer Research focuses its efforts on improving the quality of care, quality of life and survival rate of children with malignant diseases.
A Charity for Charities educates the community about and raises funds for other nonprofits through such programs as “Lending a Helping Hand” and “Community ¢ents”.
Malnutrition is a very real and tragic issue in Malawi. Over 250,000 children in Malawi under the age of five suffer from Severe Acute Malnutrition. Wertz & Company is helping through its involvement and support of the Peanut Butter & Jesus (PB&J) project. Through the collaborative efforts of Y-Malawi and the Nkhoma Hospital, the creation and ongoing implementation of a nutrient-fortified peanut butter production plant within Nkhoma Hospital is underway. This Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food has resulted in a 95% success rate for bringing severely malnutrition children back from the very literal brink of starvation.

The Sumba Foundation is a private, nonprofit, nongovernmental organization dedicated to helping the indigenous people of Sumba by improving the quality of their lives through better health and education, and by providing suitable employment opportunities, a key component in achieving our long term goal of lessening the oppressive impacts of poverty. Wertz & Company support their mission through our philanthropic efforts.
Wertz & Company is proud to financially support American Heroes Tribute, whose mission is to honor U.S. Military personnel that have given their lives in the war on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan, and their families, through remembrance. Banners of the Fallen are designed by their family. AHT support qualified public and private events by providing the banners for display thereby honoring, preserving and celebrating their memory.
Wertz & Company financially supports Crossroads for Kids, a non-profit organization created to provide financial assistance through education and other types of support to “at need” children. “At need” kids are those children who, through no fault of their own, are placed in at risk situations due to circumstances that befall their families such as illness, divorce, drug dependency, and spousal abuse. This organization solicits its financial aid candidates via the recommendations of local school principals and/or teachers who are aware of such special needs. All of the annual funding for this organization comes from local business entities as a result of board member contacts. Mr. Wertz is one of the founding board members of Crossroads.
For several years, Wertz & Company has underwritten the annual tuition and related supplemental costs for two students to attend JSerra High School, a private, Christian four year high school in San Juan Capistrano, California. Mr. Wertz and his wife Donna are both long term advocates of private Christian schooling and are one of the founding families of this school. Through their leadership, the JSerra Shepherds Program was created which raises approximately $500,000 a year for financial aid purposes.
Call us with your high expectations and learn how Wertz & Company will meet them every time.
